Service Description

AST 1 and 2 give you the framework. This day helps you use it. Working with an ACMG guide in real terrain, your group practices the full decision-making process — reading snowpack, evaluating terrain, choosing lines, managing your crew on the mountain. Fully customized to your experience level and the questions you actually want answered. Good for - Groups who've completed AST 1 or AST 2 and want real field experience - Crews heading into their first independent season - Anyone wanting structured feedback on their backcountry decision-making Your private day includes - Full day with a certified ACMG guide - Objectives customized to your group's experience and goals - Real-terrain practice: snowpack assessment, terrain selection, group management - Debrief and feedback throughout the day - Up to 6 guests What to bring - AT ski setup with skins, or splitboard - Avalanche essentials: beacon, shovel, probe - AST notes if you have them - Lunch and snacks Pricing $950 / group + 5% GST · Up to 6 guests


Cancellation Policy

Booking & payment 100% payment is required at booking. All prices in CAD + 5% GST. No refunds All bookings are non-refundable from the moment of payment — no exceptions for personal reasons, weather, illness, or closures. Transfers & replacements Bookings are non-transferable and tied to the named individual(s) only. Unused spots are forfeited. Government or supplier closures In the event of COVID-19, government, or supplier-related closures, no refunds will be issued. GPG may not have the funds available to refund. Your travel insurance must cover these events — GPG will provide documentation to support your claim. Force majeure If guiding cannot proceed due to avalanche hazard, extreme weather, road closure, or similar circumstances beyond our control, GPG retains up to 50% of the fee to cover fixed costs. Any refund above 50% will be issued within 30 days, minus a 3% credit card fee and $150 admin fee. Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Last updated: November 3, 2025
